Residential Landscaping Design Process

Design Consultation

J.B. Kline will assign a landscape designer to your residential project. They will meet with you to discuss your landscaping ideas, personal preferences and concerns about your property at no charge. We will explain the design process and how our landscape professionals will complete your desired landscaping needs.

Site Analysis

For a nominal fee our landscape designer will then conduct a thorough inventory of hardscapes and softscapes on your property. This will include structures, existing trees and shrubs, utilities lines or pipes and any significant hills or slopes. The designer will also take note of sun & shade requirements, privacy needs, drainage issues and wind direction.

A cost estimate of the design will be determined based upon the size of your residential landscape site and the scope of the work to be performed. We will provide you with a Design Plan that requires a 50% deposit in order to enter the next step of the Landscaping Design Process.

Design Presentation

The Design Plan will provide the name, quantity and location of all proposed plantings; landscape elements will also be included. A cost estimate for the installation will be provided and the balance of the fee is due at this time. If the Design Plan needs to be change or the scope of work should change during the course of the project, cost adjustments will be presented and work will proceed once a Client Authorization is signed.

Installation

Our landscape professionals provide a quality product at a high standard of excellence. They will install your Design Plan with extreme knowledge of bed preparation, plant installation and landscape maintenance. J.B. Kline Landscaping is a member of the Landscape Contractors Association and we are fully insured and license through the State of Maryland – MHIC# 89776.

Warranty

J.B. Kline Landscaping guarantees all landscaping design and installation work. All trees, shrubs and ground coverings have a 100% replacement guarantee for one year from the date of installation. All hardscape structures have a full warranty for fives years from the date of installation.
